Fedora post install guide

Required:

install RPM Fusion repos

sudo dnf install https://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm https://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm

delete openh264

sudo dnf config-manager setopt fedora-cisco-openh264.enabled=0
sudo dnf remove openh264 mozilla-openh264 gstreamer1-plugin-openh264
flatpak mask org.freedesktop.Platform.openh264

update packages

sudo dnf upgrade --refresh

install ffmpeg-libs

sudo dnf install ffmpeg-libs --allowerasing

Nvidia drivers

if you have a new nvidia gpu, install current drivers:

sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda

if you have an older nvidia gpu, install drivers for your card
for example, this is how to install drivers for GTX 700, 900 and 10xx:

sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia-580xx xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-580xx-cuda

Additional

Amnezia

Amnezia client may require you to install some dependencies:

sudo dnf install xcb-util-wm xcb-util-keysyms libglvnd-opengl

if it wont open on wayland try to open it with xwayland:

QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb AmneziaVPN

install Terra repo

sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck --repofrompath 'terra,https://repos.fyralabs.com/terra$releasever' terra-release

install Zen Browser

curl -fsSL https://github.com/zen-browser/updates-server/raw/refs/heads/main/install.sh | $SHELL
